Vice President Jin Yuying Leads a Delegation to Indonesia and Vietnam for Official Visits

From May 24 to 28, Jin Yuying, Vice President of SUFE, led a delegation to Indonesia and Vietnam for official visits. Focusing on educational cooperation, think tank development, integration of industry and education, and people-to-people exchanges, the delegation visited local universities, government agencies, mainstream media, financial institutions, and business chambers. The visit aimed to actively align with China-ASEAN cooperation needs and promote international research collaboration and transnational talent cultivation.



In Indonesia, the delegation visited the Xinhua News Agency Jakarta Bureau and held a working meeting with Bureau Chief Cao Kai. Both sides exchanged views on Indonesia’s economic and social development, the investment and operation status of Chinese-funded enterprises, key mineral and new energy supply chains, and risk prevention for overseas business expansion. They reached a consensus on strengthening future collaboration in information sharing, joint research, case studies, and the translation of think tankoutputs into practical applications, aiming to provide intellectual support for the high-quality international expansion of Chinese enterprises and China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation.



During the visit to the University of Indonesia, the delegation met with Mahmud Sudibandriyo, Deputy Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, and Yulianti Abbas, Dean at Faculty of Economics and Business. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on signing a university-level Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), student exchanges, faculty visits, joint research, short-term courses, and think tank cooperation. Vice President Jin Yuying noted that with the increasingly close economic and trade ties between China and Indonesia, there is an urgent need to cultivate interdisciplinary financial and economic talents who are familiar with the market environments and policies of both countries and possess a global vision. The two sides agreed to use the visit as an opportunity to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism and, building on faculty and student exchanges, gradually expand cooperation in talent development and high-level research platforms.




At the Confucius Institute at University Al Azhar Indonesia, the delegation held talks with Vice Rector Yusup Hidayat, the Chinese and foreign directors of the institute, government-dispatched teachers, and volunteer teachers. The two sides shared experiences and achievements in Chinese language education, teacher training, brand cultural activities, and local cultural integration. Both parties agreed to leverage the platform of the Confucius Institute and utilize SUFE’s distinctive resourcesto jointly open up new paths for cultivating interdisciplinary talents who understand and are friendly toward China and excel in finance and economics.


During the visit to Indonesia, the delegation also met with Chen Wu, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, and Ding Shan, Secretary of the Cultural Section. Vice President Jin Yuying introduced SUFE’s academic strengths and its plans for educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with Indonesia. Counselor Chen Wu reviewed the overall landscape and achievements of China–Indonesia higher education exchanges and provided guidance on deepening practical cooperation to better support the integration of education and economic development between the two countries.



At the National Economics University (NEU) of Vietnam, the delegation held talks with Vice President Nguyen Thanh Hieu and Ta Van Loi, Rector of College of Business. Building on existing cooperation, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the development of a joint research center, summer student exchange programs, degree programs, and collaborative research on China-Vietnam supply chains. Both sides agreed to advance the establishment of the joint research center, focusing on collaborative research in areas of mutual concern such as international trade, supply chain coordination, transnational investment, and international business. They also committed to further promoting the two-way mobility of students and the development of Business Chinese courses, continuously deepening the practical cooperation between the two universities.



During the visit to Vietnam, the delegation also met with representatives from the financial and business communities, including Huang Bo, General Manager and Board Member of the Hanoi Headquarters of Guotai Haitong Securities (Vietnam) Joint Stock Company, and Sun Fenglei, President of the China Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and General Manager of the ICBC Hanoi Branch.


Representatives from Guotai Haitong Securities and the Chamber introduced their business operations in Vietnam and shared insights into the development of Chinese-invested enterprises in the country. The delegation highlighted SUFE’s strengths in Global South economic and financial studies, risk assessment and early-warning research for overseas business expansion, and the cultivation of internationally oriented finance professionals.


The two sides exchanged views on Chinese enterprises’ investment practices in Vietnam, industry research, and executive training. They also reached preliminary agreements on cooperation in local enterprise studies, case development, and student internship programs.



Representatives from the International Cultural Exchange School, the School of Foreign Studies, and the Global South Institute of Finance and Economics accompanied the delegation.
