SUFE & YONSEI MIRAE
On the morning of December 26, a delegation from Yonsei University’s MIRAE Campus, led by Mr. Park Eungsuk, Director of the Office of International Affairs, visited our university. Assoc. Prof. Ding Dong, Acting Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, met with the guests.

Prof. Ding Dong extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided a systematic overview of the university’s internationalization strategy and development pathway. Focusing on the university’s new strategy, she shared SUFE’s practices and achievements in building an internationalized talent cultivation system, advancing high-level international research collaboration, strengthening faculty internationalization, and developing international student education in China. She noted that the university is continuously optimizing its global partnership layout, closely aligning with students’ overseas exchange needs, and actively expanding cooperation in Asia. Given Yonsei University’s strong research capacity and outstanding internationalization outcomes, she expressed hope for substantive collaboration in student exchange.

Mr. Park Eungsuk expressed sincere appreciation for the warm reception. He briefly introduced Yonsei University’s overall profile, global rankings, and the MIRAE Campus’s development focus in key disciplinary areas. He highlighted recent progress in the deep integration of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and related disciplines, and emphasized the university’s educational philosophy of promoting synergy between the humanities and science and engineering fields to cultivate well-rounded, interdisciplinary talent. He noted that this vision aligns closely with that of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and expressed his expectation that this visit would lay a solid foundation for future collaboration and further expand and deepen bilateral cooperation.

Ms. Kuang Xin further introduced SUFE’s international student programs at various levels, overall enrollment scale, and training model. He also highlighted the features and operation of the BEST Summer Program, warmly inviting outstanding students from Yonsei University to participate in summer study and exchange programs at SUFE to enhance mutual understanding.

Witnessed by all participants, Prof. Ding Dong and Mr. Park Eungsuk signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing marks the formal establishment of a partnership between the two universities, laying the groundwork for student exchange and mobility, and further enhancing the level and quality of SUFE’s international cooperation.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation also visited the university museum to learn about SUFE’s history and development.
