Miestones

  • 1917
    Started as a business education program established at Nanjing Higher Normal school.
  • 1921
    Nanjing Higher Normal school restructured its programs and the business division was transferred to Shanghai, where it transformed itself into Shanghai College of Commerce.‍‍
  • 1932
    Renamed as National Shanghai Institute of Commerce.
  • 1950
    Renamed as Shanghai college of Finance and Economics after incorporating some departments of other Universities and Institutes.
  • 1985
    Renamed as Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
  • 2012
    To receive a tripartite guidance from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, and Shanghai Municipal Government.
  • 2017
    Involved in China's "Double First-class" (first-class universities and first-class disciplines) Initiative.
